RSSB Typing Test Practice
The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (formerly RSMSSB) tests Hindi and English typing separately. Practise 10-minute runs and read how the marks are described.
RSSB typing test at a glance
For Junior Assistant and LDC Grade II posts the board holds a typing efficiency test. Sources disagree on whether it only qualifies you or also carries marks, so read the points below carefully.

Key depressions per hour (KDPH) are simply WPM x 5 x 60: 30 WPM = 9,000 KDPH (English), 25 WPM = 7,500 KDPH (Hindi).
How the test is evaluated
This is the page where sources contradict each other most. Read the RSSB advertisement and syllabus for your post on rssb.rajasthan.gov.in before you decide how much speed you need.
- Marks (where they apply) depend on both speed and accuracy, so a clean run scores more than a fast, sloppy one.
- Sources describe the English test running in Microsoft Excel and the Hindi test in Microsoft Word, and others say Word for both - the instructions on your admit card decide.
- Because the speed for full marks is far above the qualifying speed, aim well above 30 WPM if the marks count for you.
Hindi typing, fonts and layouts
The Hindi typing test on this site has Inscript, Remington GAIL and Kruti Dev 010 built in. - One India Typing page mentions the Hindi test in Devlys (a Kruti Dev-style font), others mention Mangal.
- The font and layout are fixed by the board for your cycle; practise on the same one.
How to prepare for the RSSB typing test
- Weeks 1-2: touch typing from the free lessons and 40 minutes of daily practice.
- Weeks 3-4: strict 10-minute runs every day; track accuracy as closely as speed.
- Use the accuracy test when your errors rise.
- Practise Hindi with the 10 minute Hindi typing test.
What this practice page does and does not do
- It runs a strict 10-minute test with backspace switched off, like most government typing tests.
- The result shows key depressions, wrong words, gross and net speed and checks your net speed against the 30 WPM target used for this page.
- It is an independent practice tool. The real exam software, passage, font and error rules are the board's own.
- Typing text is built from general English sentences, not from past papers.
